Paul was born in 1969 in West Yorkshire, England. He has been a professional artist since 2007. Since then he has held solo and group exhibitions, selling his paintings both nationally and abroad. Paul predominantly paints in watercolour, a medium which he enjoys for its transparency and fluidity. He is a very versatile painter and his work is varied including Landscapes, Seascapes, Still Life, Wildlife and Floral. Although Paul paints mostly in watercolour, he is also adept in Acrylic, Oil, Gouache, graphite and Pastel.
Paul's landscape paintings are mostly in and around the Yorkshire Dales and the Pennines, where he lives and works, But he also paints the Lake District, Cornwall and Snowdonia in Wales. One place he loves to paint is on the Kintyre peninsular in Scotland, where having visited on many occasions he has become captivated by its beauty, and spends as much time as he can painting and sketching this beautiful coastline. He is drawn by the majestic scenery, and try’s to capture its ever changing mood and atmosphere.
